  1. Hi Miriam,

    The “edit” button will show up only when you are logged in as an administrator and is not available to anyone else, unless they are also logged in as administrator or editor.

    We don’t have a tutorial on making a theme from scratch, I am sure there are tutorial available, you may want to search YouTube Google. Interesting idea, we may look into making a tutorial, but no promises.

  3. i don’t recommend wordpress for beginners, it is too easily hacked … you gotta manually install it securely, not use the one click install from your host and change the table prefix and add salts etc … PLUS be sure to change the user from the default when you are done.

  4. When you copy and paste like that from other webpages, be sure to remember that you are making duplicate content and that it is not always legal to copy and paste from other people’s / organisations webpages! Remember Copyright!

  5. That’s a good point Jens. I copied content for demo purposes only, it wasn’t meant to encourage people to copy others’ content. As Jens mentioned, don’t copy others content, as it might not be legal and may impact SEO negatively because of duplicate information.

  8. If you are trying to get the files on to the RIGHT website, I can not see my website on the right that I am trying to add the files to? Can you help me with that?

  9. Can I just create a new file on the right side for the WEDSITE and add the files from wordpress to the one I created?
     

  13. Thanks for the video…quite helpful. However, I’m having some issues uploading my wordpress content to the new website.

    This is the error message I get “Before you can upload your import file, you will need to fix the following error:

    Unable to create directory wp-content/uploads/2014/01. Is its parent directory writable by the server?”

  17. Rayhan, want to thank you for this webinar. I’ve watched quite a few vids and this was by far the most informative, loved that you go into the Dashboard, making the user feel at home there. Also, note about GoDaddy, agreed, and some people (myself included) don’t like the owner’s habit of killing endangered species on his vacations with his family. But I know you didn’t mean to get into that. But I can’t resist! 🙂 Thanks again.
