WordPress Tutorial For Beginners 2015

WordPress has become the industry standard for building a website. There are tons of themes (both free and paid), plugins to jazz up your site, and endless customizations to explore. In this class which was taught live on June 6, 2015, Mark Collier and David A. Cox will show you the basics of how to navigate a WordPress website. Below there is a giant list of links and resources to help you on your journey.

Adding the Visual Composer plugin gives you the ability to add text, images, buttons, columns, and more by dragging and dropping. If the theme you’re using doesn’t have a similar feature, I highly recommend Visual Composer.

  1. @David A. Cox I wanted to Thank You for Bluehost link. I have been shopping around for a good hosting services for the last 3 weeks, bought hosting subscription from 3 different companies but cancelled them all because those were very difficult to use. I heard about Bluehost from this video, google the company and signed for it for the full year, this is the best hosting company!

Unlimited website and email, will save me a ton of money, plus friendly UI, and US based friendly customer service, I couldn’t ask for more.

Again, Mr. Cox, Thank you so much for the information.

  2. I’m working om my website and I’m trying to upload pdf-files in the media tab. I keep getting the notification ‘HTTP error’. What does this mean? The the file isn’t uploading. The size of the pdf I would like to upload is 303KB and the max. upload file size is 20 MB. This newbie is in need of help! Thanks in advance.

  3. Guys, thank you very much for this video.

Being a complete noob in these matters, it was a helpful first approach for me not to feel that intimidated when approaching WordPress.

I wanted to ask you something that also some of your followers might find interesting: if I bought a WordPress theme to work on it and I made loads of mistakes, so I wanted to know how I can erase that modified theme that I broke and reset it to default, so that I can start adapting it to my needs from scratch without my previous not-so-good modifications.

    Cheerio!

  4. I put up a “coming soon” page, to work on my actual site in the background. However will the pending, private, and public settings have an effect on how the pages are viewed by me? And will it effect my ability to edit them?

  7. I need help because my WordPress stuff don’t look like the videos. I need to add log in and register, to add a video screen that don’t move from the top of all pages. And if possible the members can add their video to that one video player screen. And i want a widget or something that can take members money that goes to my company’s buzz account. I need something that don’t charge my members for giving a dollar, it takes the whole dollar.
